What Is Evergreen Brick Works?
Since opening in its current form in 2010, Evergreen Brick Works has become one of Toronto’s most beloved public spaces, drawing over 400,000 visitors a year.
Today, Evergreen Brick Works is a living, breathing community hub. Here’s a taste of what you’ll find:
The Saturday Farmers Market — Running year-round, this is one of Toronto’s largest farmers’ markets, connecting city residents directly with local Ontario farmers and producers. Come hungry.
The Evergreen Garden Market — A sustainable garden centre stocked with native plants, heritage seeds, locally sourced gifts, and seasonal goodies. Open year-round, it always seems to have something new.
The Ontario Artisan Market — Running May through November, this is the place to browse one-of-a-kind jewellery, leather goods, ceramics, and more from local makers.
TD Future Cities Centre — Explore the history of the brick factory and interactive exhibits that champion eco-friendly urban design. It’s surprisingly engaging, even for kids.
Nature Trails & the Lookout — The surrounding Don Valley Brick Works Park is free and open to everyone. Wander the ponds and trails, spot wildlife, and hike up to the lookout for an uninterrupted view of the Toronto skyline. Worth every step.
Year-Round Events & Programming — From outdoor skating in winter to Earth Month celebrations in April, summer camps, cultural festivals, and community workshops, there’s genuinely always something going on. Check out the full events calendar here to see what’s coming up.
The café (Picnic Café & Catering) is open daily from 8:30am to 6pm — grab a coffee before you explore, or a bite after a long walk. Dogs on leash are welcome in outdoor areas, too, which is always a bonus.
