How to Pay for Your Parking
There are a few easy ways to pay for your parking at an Indigo-managed VIA Rail station lot:
Option 1 – Indigo Neo App: Download the Indigo Neo app on iOS or Android. Search for your station, select your parking duration, enter your license plate, and pay. You’ll get confirmation right on your phone. Easy.
Option 2 – Pay Meter (Debit/Credit/Cash): All locations have pay meters on-site where you can pay with a debit or credit card. All train stations also offer cash payments; for gated sites in Ottawa and Montreal, you are to retain your entry ticket and pay when you return (at pay stations inside/outside the station – In Montreal, the pay station is located in a booth in the middle of the parking area).
Option 3 – Book Online in Advance: For locations that support advance booking, you can book your spot ahead of time either on the website or app. This is especially useful for longer trips where you’ll be leaving your car for multiple days, giving you peace of mind knowing your parking is already taken care of before you arrive.
Parking Rates: What to Expect
Rates vary by station and by how long you’re parking. Most VIA Rail station lots offer:
- Hourly rates for short stays or pick-ups and drop-offs
- Daily rates if you’re leaving your car while you travel

Tips for Stress-Free Station Parking
A few simple things can make your train travel day a lot smoother:
1. Book or pay in advance if you’re leaving your car for multiple days. If your trip is overnight or longer, locking in your parking before you leave means one less thing to think about on departure day.
2. Use the app to extend your session if your plans change. If your return is delayed or your trip runs long, you can manage and extend your parking session through the Indigo Neo app only, without having to call anyone or rush back to a meter.
3. Check your station’s lot before you go. Not every VIA Rail Station lot has the same setup. Some have short-term and long-term zones, and some have specific spaces you need to use. A quick look at our VIA Rail page ahead of time goes a long way.
4. Arrive a bit earlier than your train departure. VIA Rail recommends arriving at the station 30–45 minutes before departure. Factor in a few extra minutes for parking, especially if it’s your first time at that station. Passengers can usually board about 15–30 minutes before departure to give you time to settle in.
5. Keep your Indigo Neo confirmation handy. Whether you booked ahead or paid on arrival, having your confirmation accessible on your phone makes any check or question easy to handle.
6. Look for EV charging if you need it. Select VIA Rail station lots that have EV charging available. Look for the charging icon in the Indigo Neo app when searching for your location.
